How to program a universal remote control with a digital converter box

 

This page is about helping people programming an RCA universal remote control with a digital converter box. First be advice that not all universal remote  work with converter boxes, the one we know for a fact and this process is for is  the RCA RCR503 Below are the codes and the Steps to do it.

Step 1: Manually turn on the converter box if possible if the converter box does not have ON/OFF switch is okay, go to the next step.

Step2: Press and Hold the CODE SEARCH button key until the indicator light turns on

Step 3: Release CODE SEARCH

Step4 : press and release the SAT-CBL-DTC key-

the indicator light blinks

Step 5: Find the four digit code for your particular digital converter box brand by looking at the demo below input the codoes the red light should turn off. Now your converter box should work.
